On the evening of the 25th, the Information Office of the People’s Government of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region held a press conference on the COVID-19 situation in Kashgar


As of 14:00 on October 25, 137 new cases of asymptomatic infections were added, all of which were related to the factory where the parents of the previous asymptomatic infection were located.


After the outbreak, the expert team quickly rushed to Shufu County to carry out prevention and control works. The measures as comprehensive screening of high-risk populations and nucleic acid testing have been implemented by relevant departments. 


The daily living trajectories of 138 asymptomatic infections have been basically grasped. In the meantime, taking Shufu County as the focus, nucleic acid testing for all people in Kashgar has been quickly launched for free.


As of 14:00 on the 25th, a total of 4,746,500 people in Kashgar were required to be tested, 2,835,300 nucleic acid samples have been taken, 334,800 results have been obtained, and no abnormalities were found.
