China-EU Zhi Gong Station (Wenzhou) Holds International Talent Exchange and Friendship Meeting
The 2024 Wenzhou International Exchange of Professionals Event and the Launch Ceremony of “Boosting International Blocks” Activities organized by the China-EU Zhi Gong Station (Overseas Fellowship Committee of Wenzhou Municipal Committee of the Zhi Gong Party) in cooperation with the Foreign Affairs Office of the Wenzhou Municipal Government, Wenzhou Public Diplomacy Association, Zhenan Talent Development Group, and Wenzhou Overseas Media Center were held on December 7th. 60 international talents gathered together to exchange views and discuss how to make Wenzhou more international and fashionable. At the ceremony, Xu Penghuai, head of the China-EU Zhi Gong Station, director of the Overseas Friendship Committee of Wenzhou Municipal Committee of the Zhi Gong Party and deputy secretary-general of Wenzhou Public Diplomacy Association, presented the flag to the Wenzhou International Volunteer Team. Professor Mao Li from Wenzhou-Kean University took the flag serving as a volunteer representative. Representatives of Wenzhou Generation Z International Communication Group, jointly established by Wenzhou University School of Foreign Studies and Wenzhou Overseas Media Center, were invited to participate in the activity.


It’s reported that in order to enhance Wenzhou’s internationalization level, Wenzhou is actively planning to promote the construction of international neighborhood to provide a more convenient and comfortable working and living environment for foreign experts and international friends. And the organization of this activity was aimed at letting international friends understand Wenzhou more, fall in love with Wenzhou, and strengthen the Chinese and foreign humanistic exchanges. Mao Li from Turin, Italy, fondly stated that 2024 is the 700th anniversary of the death of Marco Polo. 700 years ago, the book ‘Marco Polo Travels’ opened the door to the mysterious East for European people. 700 years later, the Wenzhou people all over the world, like Marco Polo, bravely left his homeland, struggled hardly in foreign lands, and finally brought back their insights and gains to the homeland. ‘Wenzhou and my hometown Turin are friend cities. We have a deep friendship and a broad base of cooperation. I'm very much looking forward to further strengthening co-operation and exchanges between the two sides in the future.’ Mao Li said.
