Wenzhou, which is a famous hometown of overseas Chinese, has nearly 700,000 overseas Chinese and 344,000 relatives of returned overseas Chinese. The overseas Chinese of Wenzhou descent have established 350 overseas Chinese groups in 131 countries and regions, setting off a surging wave of “making contributions to hometown” at abroad. In recent years, a series of video program titled with "Overseas Chinese & Common Prosperity", which is sponsored by Wenzhou Overseas Chinese Federation, produced and broadcast by Wenzhou Overseas Media Center, has been launched. This series of video program is themed in "Overseas Chinese Helping the Development of Wenzhou", and aims to display a bunch of vivid practical samples reflecting the strength of overseas Chinese in the construction of the Wenzhou Common Prosperity Demonstration Area with a close-to-life, effective and popular method.

Wenzhou Global Commodity Trade Port is the core platform of the distribution center for imported commodities in Zhejiang, Fujian and Jiangxi Provinces. In recent years, Wenzhou accelerates to become an open highland of leading the development of Wenzhou, a display center for imported goods, building a new pattern of comprehensive opening up to the outside world in the new era. By establishing Wenzhou Global Commodity Trade Port, Ouhai District attracts the import resources of Wenzhou businessmen and overseas Chinese and promotes the public consumption, forming a clustering effect.

In addition, Wenzhou vigorously promotes the construction of Wenzhou Digital E-commerce Live-streaming Base. It is of great significance to the transformation and upgrading of Wenzhou's shoe and to Wenzhou’s economic boost. Zhou Kai, a 2nd-generation overseas Chinese returning back for starting new businesses and a co-founder of Wenzhou Digital E-commerce Live-streaming Base, said that as the base is settled in Lucheng, it will greatly promote the reform of the sales system of Wenzhou's traditional shoe industry by developing the digital industry, realizing the leapfrog development from 'China Shoe Capital' to 'Global Shoe Capital'.
