Renovated Gongyuan Road to be unveiled its mask before 2020 Spring Festival
Up to now, more than 70% of the works of reconstruction and upgradation projects in the Gongyuan Road area have been completed. The road is scheduled to reopen himself to citizens before 2020 Spring Festival.
With well re-crafted originality, sectional characteristic landscapes are ready to come out
On October 1st, the western half of Gongyuan Road was opened to the outside. The main contents of the renovation and upgradation projects are the reconstruction of the facades along the street and the ground surface re-pavement of the road.
All kinds of pseudo-classic style doors and windows were installed upon the exterior walls
Stepping into Gongyuan Road from Jiefang Street, all kinds of pseudo-classic style doors and windows were installed upon the exterior walls of the buildings along the street in varying degrees, wafting with a scent of antique. " 'Niqiubei', such characteristic structures above the roof & ridge, are displayed after this renovation." Quoted as citizens saying.
“Rhyming of Town God”, one of the 10 scenic spots of Gongyuan Road, is located on the northeast of Mingcheng Square, opposite side of the Dongnan Building. Although the landscape is still under intense construction, it still makes people yearn with its riveting designs of "Nanxi Theater" and "Linking Corridor".
To be supposedly positioned as pedestrian street, its surrounding roads start upgradation simultaneously
So far, more than 70% of the works of reconstruction and upgradation projects in the Gongyuan Road area have been completed. The reconstruction of the facades on both sides of the middle section of the Gongyuan Road (Xingwenli to Xianxue section) will be finished by the end of December. The materials selected for western half of Gongyuan Road and the middle section are different with “Tan stones” being used into the former and “stone bars” into the latter.
"The old stone bars used for paving are all from the old buildings in Lucheng and the surrounding areas. They are adopted for not only meeting the functional applications, also keeping a well historical continuity." Quoted as staff saying. The proposed function of Gongyuan Road is positioned as a pedestrian street with more focuses being placed on the protection of historical and cultural streets and the integration of Wenzhou elements in the overall planning.
