The library has a construction area of 32,000 square meters and a collection of more than 4.49 million volumes of books, including more than 3.11 million paper collections (more than 190,000 volumes among them are ancient books) and 1.37 million electronic books. The library is open every day from 8:30 to 20:20 (closed on Friday morning). It receives more than 4.5 million readers a year, and the annual literature-borrowing reaches nearly 3 million copies. It is a large modern public library, a combination of culture, education, scientific research, leisure and other functions.
