A series of Dragonboat events hosted or co-organized by Wenzhou Overseas Publicity Base (Wenzhoudaily) will be held this Sunday.

  The Dragon Boat Festival is coming again and the aroma of Zongzi is emanating everywhere. As one of the traditional festivals in China, the Dragon Boat Festival is full of cultural atmosphere.

  A series of events hosted or co-organized by Wenzhou Overseas Publicity Base (Wenzhoudaily) will be held this Sunday and we look forward to your joining.

Event 1: Experiencing the custom of Dragon Boat Festival

 The celebration event ”Our Festival·The Dragon Boat Festival” in Wenzhou will be held in the New Garden Community at 8:25 am on Sunday, June 2, 2019. There is a display area of Intangible cultural heritages set up at the event site, letting guests experience those ancient skills listed as Intangible cultural heritages such as bamboo inlay, silk plastic, Xu Datong writing instrument, sugar-blowing, tin wares, Ou embroidery, rice sculpture, Ou plastic, paper-cutting, sugar painting, etc. There is also a 100-meter canvas for everyone to take graffiti. Furthermore, there are also many Dragon Boat Festival folk-custom experiencing projects there, such as painting eggs and braiding egg bags. These are the traditional activities for the Chinese people to celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival. Not only children, but even adults have a lot of fun.

  Of course, the experience of wrapping Zongzi is indispensable to the event. The volunteers  arranged at Hongri Pavilion (the charity landmark) will wrap the Zongzi with all the guests together. The guests will be divided and teamed up again to attend the “Zongzi contest”. Each team will compete with others in the aspects of the speed of wrapping Zongzi, the quality and taste of their wrapped ones, etc. And finally the best one will be voted and rewarded with awards. At the end of the event, you can also enjoy the magnificent flash-mob performance. What a great scene! Hundreds of people get together for the celebration of the Dragon Boat Festival.

Event 2: Large-scale event of cheongsam show

  We will also hold a large-scale cheongsam show with 200 participants on the same day at 1:30 pm. In addition to the cheongsam performance, there will be song and dance performances such as flash-mob and so on. If you are interested, please come and join us.
