Urban-Rural Population Composition

Of the total permanent resident population at the end of 2024, 7.484 million resided in urban areas, while 2.368 million lived in rural areas. The proportion of urban population (i.e., urbanization rate) stood at 76.0%, marking a rise of 1.3 percentage points compared to 2023.
