Wenzhou has nearly 700,000 overseas Chinese. Coming from different villages, these overseas Chinese are now scattered around the world while engaging in all walks of life. For those people who are wandering abroad, the hometown is their "root" as well as their nostalgia.

In this video, Catarina, a Portuguese-Chinese anchor (an international student from Wenzhou University), comes to Shangen Village, taking the old photos, and searching for the Wenzhou countryside in her father's memory.

Ms.Yu Jundei, the head of the project “Shangen Music & Art Village”, introduces that Shangen Village has preserved the original appearance of ancient dwellings to the greatest extent possible during the renovation, retaining 7 buildings from the Ming and Qing dynasties, 4 buildings from the Republic of China, and more than 120 buildings from the 60s to the 80s. Shangen is called the "Museum of Living Architecture" as it has reserved the original flavour of Wenzhou's old-time style. At the same time, attracted by the melodious music, fascinating arts, delicious food and beautiful scenery, more and more young overseas Chinese choose to return back to their hometowns and start their own business here. What they are doing brings more energy to the Shangen Village, making it more beautiful.
