Editor's Note: Lucheng is the center of Wenzhou, and also a key overseas Chinese township. It has 88,700 overseas Chinese distributed in 133 countries and regions, and 52,000 relatives of overseas Chinese.

Last year, Lucheng District Overseas Chinese Association launched a series of bilingual programs titled "Developments of Lucheng in Overseas Chinese's Eyes", displaying the great achievements Lucheng has gained in economy, life, and cultural construction through the perspectives of overseas Chinese.

This year, a new series of bilingual programs titled "Lucheng’s Common Prosperity in Overseas Chinese's Eyes" has been launched, telling the story of the new generation of overseas Chinese. We hope to further stimulate the wisdom of the overseas Chinese community, and continuously pump more youthful power into the construction of Wenzhou!

Xia Xiaoqin, a returned overseas Chinese from France, was born in Xiajia Village, Shanfu Town, Lucheng District, Wenzhou, and went to France with her father at the age of 15. During her more than 30 years’ stay in France, she has borne in mind constantly of the beautiful landscape of her hometown, Xiajia Village. In her opinion, with picturesque scenery and fresh air,her hometown is a paradise very suitable for retired people to live. In today's video, we enjoy the life story of Xia Xiaoqin. 

After returning to China in 2018, Xia Xiaoqin combined the topographical advantages of Xiajia Village with modern architectural style and folklore culture in southern Zhejiang, to create a B&B Hotel called "Xia Mu Huang Li". She was in charge of location selection, construction, soft furnishings, operation of this B&B Hotel. For her, it’s emblematic of her incessant emotions for Xiajia Village.

Xia Xiaoqin said that, in the next step, she intends to take the "Xia Mu Huang Li" B&B Hotel as a model to further renovate more vacant houses in Xiajia Village for the purpose of attracting more people to come here and experience rural slow life. She wants to do her part in driving the economic development of her hometown and making it a beautiful village known to everyone.
