Wenzhou people have a custom of flying kites in the second month of the lunar calendar, forming their own kite culture over the years.

Liu Lijian is the chairman of Wenzhou Kite Association. Inspired by his family, he became the fourth generation inheritor of Liu's kite-making craftsmanship and is well versed in the making of traditional Wenzhou kites. Over the past years, Mr.Liu has inherited tradition and brought forth new ideas through innovation, winning many awards in kite competitions across the country.

In this video, foreign anchor Anna and her son Jerry, visited Wenzhou Kite Culture Museum on Xinhe Street in Lucheng District. The walls and ceiling here are covered with traditional Wenzhou kites, including dragon kites, swallow kites and theatrical mask kites. These kites are quite distinctive, coming in different shapes and sizes.

"Tying, gluing, painting and flying", these are 4 steps of making traditional kites. In the Kite Culture Museum, a traditional Wenzhou "Fish"kite was gradually shaped by Anna and Jerry's hands under the guidance of Mr Liu.

This spring, let's fly the beautiful kites together with Anna and Jerry!
