The charm of the Mid-Autumn Festival is contained in the vast moonlit night, the magnificent scenery that stretches for thousands of miles, and its rich traditional festival customs. In this episode, Alisher, the anchor of "Hai’ou Community", took a journey of"moon-seeking" in Cangnan County, Wenzhou.

According to folklore experts, in ancient Wenzhou, people generally worshiped the celestial being on the moon, commonly known as "Moonlight Buddha". On every Mid-autumn Festival, a ritual of worshiping moon was held. During the ritual, the placement of moon cakes was very particular. A large moon cake should be placed in the middle of the round table, and a goldfish bowl should be laid on top of it, which was symbolic of"receiving wealth". What’s more, 10 moon cakes of different sizes should be set up around it. When the moon rises, people take the moon cakes back and eat them while making good wishes to the celestial being. “This distinctive traditional culture not only enriches our cultural life, but also deeply attracts many international friends like me.”Alisher said that it was a truly wonderful experience of culture.
