Since Wenzhou, eastern China’s Zhejiang province, was designated as the host city of the 15th China International Garden Expo(CIGE), various construction projects have been moving forward steadily, unveiling the cityscape that unfolds like a scroll of poems and paintings. Themed“ Poetic Landscapes and a Shared Green Life,” the Expo embraces guiding principles — public benefit, cultural heritage, innovation and openness, and moderation and sustainability — together shaping a citywide Garden Expo.

“Instead of confining the garden to an exhibition site, the city itself is the garden, and the garden is the city.” This will be the greatest innovation of the upcoming Expo, which will break away from the traditional enclosed-park model and transform all of Wenzhou into an open-air venue without walls.
