On the evening of August 20, Chen Fang, the inheritor of Wenzhou traditional hand-sewing shoes craftsmanship, presented this astonishing skill for broad viewers via 5G broadcast.

As the shoes capital of China, Wenzhou has a high reputation for its leather shoes manufacture. 

On the evening of August 20, Chen Fang, the inheritor of Wenzhou traditional hand-sewing shoes craftsmanship, presented this astonishing skill for broad viewers via 5G broadcast
in WenzhouDaily's"Meeting · Wuma" Live streaming Studio based in the central square of Wuma Street, Lucheng District. Brett from South Africa was the guest in the live stream.



During the live stream, Chen Fang used a piece of handmade leather and some simple tools to sew out a pair of mini leather shoes on the spot in only 10 minutes, and gave them to Brett as a small gift.

"It's the first time I have ever seen the entire shoe making process — from leather to shaped shoes. Wenzhou is truly the shoes capital of China," said the foreign anchor Brett, he also exclaimed that "It's amazing!"

As introduced, Wenzhou sewn leather shoes are comparable to those precious artifacts due to the complex and cumbersome making process. Each pair of shoes is sewn with more than a hundred stitches from inner to outer. The middle layer of each shoe is filled with granulated cork particles. The comfort level is much higher than ordinary shoes.
