"Firework-triggered Puppetry", also known as "Fireworks Puppetry", is a folkloric art with a unique ornamental value, combining handmade craftsmanship and artistic performance. It takes gunpowder as the main ignition material. By igniting the gunpowder, the puppets dance in the sky. "It's incredible!" Sandra, a foreign anchor from Russia, gave her comments after watching the puppet show. In this video, please go with Sandra to explore the exquisite firework-triggered puppetry and enjoy the stunning sight after its explosion!

The firework-triggered puppet puppetry was originally a ritual performance as Taishun people held folk religious activities in the past. With the development of the society, nowadays the firework-triggered puppet show has not only appeared in the ritual activities. Puppet artists are also invited to perform at large festivals. Its whole performance is done on a bamboo pole of 13 to 15 meters in length. The production cycle of firework-triggered puppet is very long, within it, thousands of steps have to be gone through step by step, requiring high skills on the makers.

In June 2006, "Taishun Firework-triggered Puppetry" was added into the list of first batch of National Intangible Cultural Heritages. In the old times, due to lack of exchange caused by inconvenient transportation, people were poor in cultural entertainment. However, Firework-triggered Puppetry brought local people unlimited joy and surprises. Nowadays, it continues to keep alive. An ancient culture that has been popular for thousands of years always has its own vitality. So why not enjoy this mysterious and fascinating intangible cultural heritage once again!
