District, Wenzhou, where every mother must prepare a jar of "Maimai wine" for her daughter after her daughter giving birth. So, Maimai wine is also called "Mother wine", which is a nutritious wine that women drink during confinement in childbirth. Nowadays, Maimai wine is a nutritious wine as well as a healthy wine. It is no longer exclusively enjoyed by birth-giving women, but has become a popular traditional wine. Maimai wine is the upgradation of yellow rice wine. Based on the production technology of Chinese traditional yellow rice wine, the Maimai wine owns its unique characteristics of fragrance, flavor and nutritional value after adding many special secret-techniques. At present, it has been included in the 5th batch of Zhejiang Province’s intangible cultural heritage.
