Dingbutou village in Qiaodun Town, Cangnan County is now the location of Yaowan community of Qiaodun Town. Its former name was Guaotou, meaning the source of Aojiang River, the third largest river in Wenzhou.

The village was built along the Juxi stream and Qingshui stream. The east of the village is the ancient Dingbutou Street, while the west are the new Dingbutou Street, Guangchangnei and Linghou township. There is a long Dingbu Stone Bridge across the stream to link the east with the west. Because of its link with both ancient and new streets, connected to every part of the village and famous for its big and long stoned Dingbu, the village changed its name later to Dingbutou, which means the village is built up at the both ends of Dingbu Bridge.
