Recently, the launch ceremony of the “GlobalFace Maritime Silk Road International Art Workshop” and the “Impressions of the Maritime Silk Road” International Youth Photography Exhibition was held at the Maritime Silk Road Cooperation Garden in the International Pavilion of the 15th China (Wenzhou) International Garden Expo. Young photographers, art enthusiasts, and international youth representatives from countries including Russia, Germany, and the United States gathered for the event, using photography as a bridge for cross-cultural exchange.

The “Impressions of the Maritime Silk Road” International Youth Photography Exhibition was organized by the Wenzhou Maritime Silk Road International Communication Base, and hosted by Wenzhou Qiou Culture Media Co., Ltd. More than 60 photographic works by young photographers from different countries were displayed at the exhibition, covering themes such as urban landscapes, natural ecology, folk culture, and everyday life. From lively street scenes to breathtaking natural scenery, from the rhythm of modern cities to intimate daily moments, the photographers documented their experiences and impressions of life in China through their lenses. The featured works were carefully selected from over 500 submissions.

Anna, a young Russian curator of the exhibition, said: “Art is the most universal language. Many scenes that Chinese people may see as ordinary daily life become deeply fascinating through the eyes of foreigners.”

Anna currently runs Wenzhou Qiou Culture Media Co., Ltd., which is registered at the Wenzhou International Youth Entrepreneurship Park (WIYEP). She expressed her hope that the exhibition would encourage more people to rediscover the beauty of China from different perspectives while fostering greater understanding and resonance among cultures.

Svetlana, a Russian-language teacher working in Liaoyuan, Jilin Province, also traveled to Wenzhou especially for the exhibition. Speaking about her work, she said: “Every frame in this series tells a story. It is also my love letter to China.”

During the event, many local residents and visitors stopped to admire the exhibition and exchange ideas with the photographers about artistic inspiration and everyday life. The photographs not only showcased the cultural charm and natural beauty of Chinese cities, but also encouraged viewers to see familiar scenes from an international perspective. Many visitors commented that the exhibition allowed them to discover a different side of China while experiencing the warmth and emotional connection brought by cultural exchange.

To help guests stay cool during the summer event, the Wenzhou Lucheng District Sanleting Public Welfare Charity Service Center thoughtfully prepared complimentary local refreshments, including almond tofu dessert and herbal tea. The refreshing treats added a touch of comfort to the event and highlighted Wenzhou’s spirit of public service and hospitality, earning praise from many visitors.

According to the organizers, the exhibition not only created a platform for cultural exchange and artistic presentation among Chinese and international youth, but also enriched the city’s international cultural atmosphere. More international photography exhibitions are planned in the future, continuing to tell the vibrant stories of Maritime Silk Road cities through images and visual storytelling.
