On the morning of April 13, over 30 young overseas communication ambassadors, which are the students from Wenzhou Dalton Elementary School, along with Italian international students from the College of International Education at Wenzhou University, visited the Shuomen Ancient Port for a unique cross-cultural exchange activity. The event was organized by the Wenzhou Oversea Media Center and the Wenzhou Exit-Entry Frontier Inspection Station, with support from Shanghai Xingeng heartland Education Technology Co., Ltd. It also received strong backing from the Shuomen Ancient Port.

At the Shuomen Ancient Port site, guides led the students on an in-depth exploration of the historical origins of the Maritime Silk Road, highlighting Wenzhou’s significant role in foreign trade. This sparked great interest among the students in the maritime Silk Road culture. "These beautiful porcelain pieces and the ingenious design of the ancient port truly amazed me," said Brian, one of the Italian students.

As a key part of the event, officers from the Wenzhou Frontier Inspection Station explained immigration laws and regulations in simple terms, demonstrated passport inspection procedures, and introduced the latest advancements in smart port development. Two Italian students also shared stories about their hometowns, talked about their experiences in China, and warmly answered the children’s questions, satisfying their curiosity about different cultures. They even taught the group some basic Italian phrases. At the end of the event, the children used their newly learned Italian to join the international students in a cheerful chant: "Lo Amo Wenzhou!" (I love Wenzhou!)
